Bar Island

Today's story is all about Bar Harbor's Bar Island walk.
Mommy has been to BH several times but never took this walk across the Bar...in her head this is the closest thing to walking on water.
During low tide, the ocean parts and a lovely sand bar is revealed and you can walk to an Island!
How cool is that?

After walking across the sand bar to Bar Island they remind you NOT to park your car (on the mainland side) near the water, because it may take on some water.  haha
Sign reads "Parking on Bar is not recommended"

There's a nice little hike on the island which has beautiful views of Bar Harbor!

The cairns (little rock formations) lead the way.
The cairns also make good photographic frames!

Back to higher ground.
